4. Action

Albendazole is a wormer drug which provokes paralysis in parasites and results in their death. The drug is moderately toxic for people, but it endures well. In toxocarosis (Toxocara canis) in adults and children over 14 years of age with the body mass over 60 kg the drug is used in a single-shot dose of 400 mg; with the body mass less than 60 kg - 200 mg, in children less than 14 years of age a dose is set up on the basis of 10 mg/kg. Repetition factor is 2 times/daily, the therapy duration is 7-14 days.
The drug is to be taken during meal. It is recommended to have a simultaneous treatment for all the family members.

6. Counterindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, lactation period, childhood (before 6 years of age the safety is not determined), suppression of marrowy blood formation, liver failure, liver cirrhosis, pathology of retina.

To be used with precaution in liver disorders (before the treatment and after it its functions should be controlled). It is recommended a control of a cellular composition of blood; if leucopenia emerges the therapy is to be suspended.
